Because Safety Is The Key
Sure, you have all of the gear that you could possibly need in order to make sure that you safe out on the paintball field. You have the protective clothing, a good mask and so on. However, there is more to paintball safety than just the right amount of gear. You really want to make sure that you know all about equipment safety as well as playing safety to ensure that everyone all around you remains just as safe as you are. For obvious reasons, you should never ever point your gun at anything that you are not intending on shooting. Accidents can happen so quickly that the proper amount of gun safety is always necessary. You should also make sure that your paintballs are set to fly at the proper velocity so nobody gets hurt while you are playing. In addition to these things with gun safety, you should make sure that you never travel with paintballs in your gun. Emptying the gun can give you a good amount of extra assurance that you do not have any mishaps. It is never a good idea to shoot at any other player that is standing within 15 feet or so from the barrel of your gun. You will also want to make sure that you are never shooting at anything that is not meant to be shot at. When you are looking to practice, making sure that you have great practice gear to use as targets would be the best way to go.

Being Prepared On Game Day
Even though you have your gun and some great clothing to wear, it is very important that you keep in mind some of the other things that you will want on the day of a paintball game. Being prepared is definitely the way to go, especially because you will want everything to run smoothly so your game day will go well. There is just nothing worse than forgetting something when you hit the field, especially because many gamers have to travel for quite some time to get to a field to even play on. Even though the field that you are playing on may already provide water, it is always a good idea to bring your own water bottle or canteen with you. Often times there will be long lines for the water fountain, so if you already have a full bottle you will be all set. Another good thing to bring along with you is money in case you want to purchase some extra supplies if they happen to be selling them at the field. You may even find that you will need a spring or a screw in a hurry if something goes wrong. Some players like to bring healthy snacks along with them to the field on game day. Not only is this good for your energy, but you may be able to save yourself some money by bringing your own tidbits to nibble on. After that, another smart thing to bring is a change of clothing. Certainly, it will be a lot easier on you to drive home in clean clothes instead of those that may have paint splatters and dirt and grime all over them!

Keeping Your Paintball Gun Clean
Your paintball gun was probably a fairly big investment to take on when your purchased it. In addition to that, there may have been several add-ons that you have gotten for it since that time. When you have such an investment on your hands, you are going to want to do everything that you possibly can to keep it clean and working in the best fashion possible. This means a bit more than just doing a cleaning now and then. You will find that if you stay on a regular cleaning schedule for your paintball gun that it will not only last you longer, but it will also perform better each and every time that you use it. Follow the instructions that came directly from the manufacturer when you take your paintball gun apart. Once you have disassembled the gun, you can then begin by taking your squeegee through the barrel to get out any residue that may be in there. Then you can wipe all around the rest of the barrel and dry it off. When it comes to cleaning all around the smaller areas of your paintball gun, it is a great idea to keep some cotton swabs or an old toothbrush or two on hand. This will allow you to get right into some of the dips and crevices that you will find along the way that may be harder to reach. While you are cleaning your gun, this is also a great time to double check and see if there are any pieces that are damaged and may need replacement. If you happen to have extra screws, springs or o-rings on hand, these types of repairs can be simple and easy. Once your gun is all clean, you will be more than ready for the next face-off on the field.
